Social Media Content Coordinator
Are you passionate about creating impactful content and driving social engagement in a fast-paced environment? The Philos Communications Team is seeking a Social Media Content Coordinator who will spearhead our social media content creation efforts and help us expand our digital presence across all social media platforms. You will be responsible for writing, coordinating, and deploying high-quality content to Philos’ social media channels, ensuring it resonates with our audience and aligns with our overall communication strategy. This is a full-time role that demands creativity, agility, and a passion for connecting with diverse audiences on a global scale.
Responsibilities
– Content Creation & Collaboration: Work closely with our talent, editors, and leadership to brainstorm, draft, and refine compelling social media content that captures the essence of Philos’ mission and vision.
– Social Media Strategy & Execution: Partner with the Associate Director and Director of Communications to drive social media strategy, ensuring our messaging remains cohesive, timely, and effective across all platforms.
– Multimedia Scripting: Craft scripts for video content and write captivating captions that boost engagement and communicate the Philos message clearly and persuasively.
– Scheduling & Optimization: Leverage Sprout Social to schedule content, ensuring a steady flow of posts while planning for peak engagement times.
– Content Curation: Convert long-form Philos educational and media products into digestible, short-form social media content that captures attention and drives engagement.
– Audience Engagement: Monitor trending topics and engage with our community in real time by reposting, commenting, and responding to comments and direct messages. Foster meaningful conversations and build relationships with our audience.
– Trend Research: Stay ahead of the curve by continuously researching emerging trends, algorithms, and best practices across all social platforms, adapting our content strategy accordingly.
– On-the-Ground Coverage: Be the eyes and ears of Philos at key events, whether local or international Philos trips, capturing live content and ensuring our audience feels connected to the action in real time.
– Rapid Response Environment: Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced atmosphere where deadlines are tight, and content needs to be turned around quickly to stay relevant.
Qualifications & Requirements
– Creative & Experienced Storyteller: You have at least 3-4 years of social media experience and a strong portfolio of content that showcases your ability to write and produce engaging social media content.
– Deep Understanding of Middle East Politics & Religion: Your background includes a Bachelor’s Degree or extensive subject matter expertise in these areas, allowing you to create content that is thoughtful, informed, and impactful.
– Exceptional Writing Skills: You possess a strong command of grammar, punctuation, and spelling, along with the ability to write clearly and persuasively for a variety of audiences.
– Strategic Mindset: You’re not just focused on content creation—you also understand the bigger picture and how social media fits into the larger communication and marketing strategy.
– Detail-Oriented & Organized: You have a meticulous eye for detail and excel in managing multiple tasks simultaneously, never letting anything fall through the cracks.
– Driven by Purpose: As a professing Christian, your work is driven by your values, and you’re committed to creating content that aligns with Philos’ mission to foster dialogue and understanding around the Middle East.
