Philos Catholic Project Intern

The Philos Project’s Catholic Department is looking for a professional, organized, and driven individual who will assist the Philos Catholic team with the planning and execution of our upcoming conference at Franciscan University, October 24-26, as well as any other projects associated with the conference.

Qualifications:

  • Embraces the Philos mission of promoting positive Christian engagement in the Near East and must have an ecumenical mindset.
  • General understanding of Catholic doctrine and institutional landscape, as well as general understanding of Jewish-Catholic relations preferred.
  • Writing and research skills with clear attention to detail preferred.
  • Must be flexible, adaptable, and punctual.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Must be a practicing Catholic who is committed to their faith.

Undergraduate and graduate students working towards degrees in relevant disciplines such as International Relations/Political Science/Religious Studies/History/Theology, as well as recent graduates, are also highly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with writing and proofreading copy for emails, invitations, and any other Philos Catholic-related items.
  • Assist in ad hoc tasks related to Philos Catholic’s upcoming conference with Franciscan from October 24-26.
  • Manage, organize, and update Philos Catholic’s contacts and database as needed.
  • Provide feedback on and assist with developing many of Philos Catholic’s programs.
  • Assist in creating and curating content for Philos Catholic’s social media pages.
  • Conduct research on various facets of both the Jewish and Catholic communities in the United States as needed.

Hourly Pay and Internship Details:

This is a semi-remote internship that pays $15 per hour. DC based applicants that can come into the Philos Project’s DC Office (15th St & K St) at least once a week will be prioritized.

Remote applicants may also apply. The internship will require 10-15 hours of work per week, and it will begin as soon as a candidate for the role is accepted. The role will last until December 8, 2023. Possibility for extension conditional on performance and need.
